British movie successes

The King's Speech

All the Harry Potters

All the Bond movies

We do all right I think. Are American movies popular in UK?
American films are very popular in the UK, this is the current UK top ten:

1 Tangled

2 The King's Speech

3 Black Swan

4 The Mechanic

5 The Dilemma

6 The Green Hornet

7 Hereafter

8 Gulliver's Travels

9 127 Hours

10 How Do You Know

The UK does have it's own film industry, with quite often works hand in hand with the American film industry, producing film series like the Harry Potter and the various James Bond films. Successful British films from the past ten years include:

Bridget Jones's Diary grossing $254 million worldwide

Mamma Mia! grossing $601 million

Love Actually grossing $239 million

Slumdog Millionaire grossing $311 million

British studios such as Pinewood, Shepperton and Leavesden also were used in the filming of major American films, including Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, V for Vendetta, and many others.

Britain has also produced a large number of well known directors inculding Chistopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Paul Greengrass, Danny Boyle, Sam Mendes, and many others. Are American movies popular in UK?Escher 127 Hours is a BRITISH FILM along with The Kings Speech (You really thought a film starring Colin Firth playing the King of Britain was American?)

I wouldn't say they are popular, it is because they are dominant because you have too much money and can produce crap after crap. Britain has a great industry and some of the best movies you will ever watch. Anyone who says British films are bad will probably have a very limited knowledge of cinema. Europe produces by far some of the best films where America of course has a great film industry but 95% of those films are crap and only exist for profit. Are American movies popular in UK?
Some of them are obviously I don't know if all of them are but i know the big ones defiantly are.Are American movies popular in UK?This is Australia speaking but British movies SUCK, they have to watch yank movies
