Can't undertsand American movies?

My friend knows English well, but he has problems in understanding American movies. What should he do?Can't undertsand American movies?Well, since he knows English well, let he starts by watching movie with american subtitles first. Or he may start by watching cartoon first. if u cant grab all the words or dialog thrown, then try watching the movie with subtitles.

use them for first few films and then try to understand them without using subtitles, or else you would end up watch the subtitles and not the movie itself..

or if the movie is conceptually very strong or its direction is tough then probably u would get used to it and would later understand with time and obviosly when u watch more of such movies.Can't undertsand American movies?I guess get him to watch movies and then follow some good reviewers, and eventually he'll make the connections.

Depends on what the problem is. Can he not understand the terms and words or the concepts?

If it's the terms, you can try subtitles or starting out with easier movies?
