Yeah it's a common stereotype that supports false ideas about what is "shallow" and what kind of person you should really try to be. In my experience the captain of the football team and the hot blond girl in high school were the people that got straight A's and were in ever extracurricular activity and were really nice to everyone. In reality it would be ideal if you could be them.
