is that the reason why so many teenagers do drugs and many continue doing it into their adult life? Why doesn't TV and movies in China show teenagers smoke pot, do drugs like American TV and movies do?Chinese movies reflect the culture and values of Chinese society. American movies reflect America. When a society is a failure, it is painful for the people of that society to look into a mirror. The graphic truth of social malaise is not glamorous, it is ugly, very ugly.
My favorite Chinese TV shows are the silly match-making ones. Guys and girls ask each other embarrassing questions, then act surprised when they get a sharp-witted answer. Typical question from a girl: "If your mother and girlfriend fell into a river, but you could only save one, who would you save?" The guy replies, "I will obviously save my mother, but I will give my girlfriend a good funeral."Why doesn't TV and movies in China show teenagers smoke pot, do drugs like American TV and movies do?
To answer this question. Coomercials, TV , movies are not allowed to advertised anything relating to drugs, it is illegal there. China is very strict on drugs, people commited with drug issues can carry a death penalty. China is doing it's best abilities to bring down the drug issues , it is a social problems to them in such a huge population.Like you say, most people do drugs there. Is the other way, most don't do drugs there. (Maybe tobacco are more popular )
Hope you have an idea. Thanks for asking. Why doesn't TV and movies in China show teenagers smoke pot, do drugs like American TV and movies do?"Chinese movies reflect the culture and values of Chinese society"
HA HA HA!
This literally made me laugh out loud. If this a true statement, then China should be the most violent country on earth. I have never seen more violence than I have on Chinese movies and television. Violence against women and children is quite common in Chinese shows as is domestic abuse (both genders), etc.
China has a dark history involving drugs. Remember the Opium War? While this was precipitated by British "outsiders," the Chinese government was not completely innocent in the situation either. The Opium Wars have a complicated history (http://www.sacu.org/opium2.html ) and one result is that there is no way that the Chinese government today will allow any type of "glorification" of drugs in modern media. Why doesn't TV and movies in China show teenagers smoke pot, do drugs like American TV and movies do?
China sensors its TV and movies. You are likely unlikely to see anything bad about Chinese life on TV or film. While USA TV has artistic creativity showing real life, Chinese stamps out the harsh realities of life in China.
The reality of it is that China is a major route and end user product for the drug trade of the golden crescent and golden triangle. These drug producing drug centres produce hard drugs like heroin, opium.
This Al Jazeera shows the problems China is facing with spiralling out of control hard drug addiction.

Please pass my love message to your comrade, Dog Lover,
Sweet heart, don't get angy, you're right that 2 out 3 Taiwan's leaders are found corrupted. What about the Mainland though? Corruptions of all top leaders and their family members is NO secret. No conviction of top leaders in the Mainland does not mean no corruptions exist, it's just that every top leaders and their family members feel it's part of their "reward" package to take bribes. As well, convictions or not are decided upon by the top leaders themselves, no person is stupid enough to admit one's own crime.
That's why in the absence of ruling parties' competitions, bad cultures and behaviors in the Mainland will not be changed. Take care, I've to take rest it's now middle of night. I like your Traditional Chinese posts, See ya in "I Have A Dream...".Why doesn't TV and movies in China show teenagers smoke pot, do drugs like American TV and movies do?
Because American TV and movies are more subtle. China TV and movies often show violence and corruption, that might be the reason why so many police and government officials often beat citizens around.
Purhaps it doesn't appeal to the audiences. Who would watch that shite? When I was growing up, I prefered watching Full House, Macgyver or Step by Step over crackheads.
