I'm doing an oral in English on stereotypes and I've picked 'women as victims' as the topic.
The idea is that in the past, woman were presented as being weak and unable to defend themselves, and were 'damsels in distress' and need an American film that shows this. I'm then comparing it with movies from our time now, where women can fight for themselves, showing this in Kill Bill.
Thankyou in advance :)What's an American movie from the 1980's or earlier with a woman as a victim?Well, there are the slasher/stalker films of the 70's and 80's.

A good film showing a woman fighting for herself is Citizen Jane 2009. I saw it recently. Jane's aunt was gruesomely murdered and the killer was after her next. She went after him, gathering evidence, and put him behind bars. A true story.
