I haven't got exact statistics but it appears to me (I might just be biased) that in American movies / TV shows, Chinese / Japanese women often appear as some married men's mistress, or one 'stealing' someone's boyfriend. Does this happen often in the US? I know movies and TV shows like to stereotype people, so is this a typical stereotype in Americans' eyes? Why do oriental women often appear as someone's mistress in American TV/movies?it's a steroetype that Asians are, let's say prostitutes because the Japanese had an open mind about sex and pilligamy (sp?) or having a lot of wives were acceptable in China. And it's been said by a long of guys that they like Asian girls more than others.
It's just that the stereotype on Chinese are two different types. China dolls, of shy girls that are quiet and submissive that some aggressive guys in movies like. and dragon ladies, which are like the girls who like to be on top in a basic sense. Why do oriental women often appear as someone's mistress in American TV/movies?
stereotypeWhy do oriental women often appear as someone's mistress in American TV/movies?They like American men and American men like them. They aren't as mouthy, well at least not in the way American women are.Why do oriental women often appear as someone's mistress in American TV/movies?
Why not.Why do oriental women often appear as someone's mistress in American TV/movies?First of all, they're Asian NOT Oriental.
A rug can be Oriental.
A person from any Asian country is referred to as Asian.
Second, maybe that's just wishful thinking on the part of the director. Why do oriental women often appear as someone's mistress in American TV/movies?
Usually in America, anyone who has a Asian wife/mistress/etc either got them in some war 30-40 years ago.
I always notice that Asians want nothing to do with white/black/etc Americans unless they were bought online. but i might just be biased
..wishful thinking for insecure males in the audience. to have an exotic Asian woman... movie makers know that.... and exploit it....
