Why most american movies are so unreal in comparison to foreign movies from Europe and Latin America?

Happy endings bring people back into the theaterWhy most american movies are so unreal in comparison to foreign movies from Europe and Latin America?Americas movies make money, no one watches European or Latin America films because they are boring, people would rather watch things blow up than watch some old english lady sipping tea in her gardenWhy most american movies are so unreal in comparison to foreign movies from Europe and Latin America?
Because real is BORINGWhy most american movies are so unreal in comparison to foreign movies from Europe and Latin America? What do you mean by "unreal"

Do you mean that they aren't realistic. and they touch on topics that aren't honestly important?

In that case I think that Americans make movies for entertainment only, they go see movies to be happy or scared or what ever the movie genre is. When they go see a movie they don't go to learn about something. Thats why you can't trust historical facts in movies.

I think that movies should be fun and educational..
Real is not really boring if you have the appreciation and taste for it (which I do like mostly) but it appeals to only a few people while the Hollywood types of movies appeal to many esp. young audience who are top market and would likely go to theaters.....ex. transformers, Shrek,10 ooo BC, LOTR, etc. and the producers are after the "money". Not all but some foreign made movies like French, Italian, Latin America are the kind of movies that would win international critics' award but not so much money in it.Why most american movies are so unreal in comparison to foreign movies from Europe and Latin America?American movie producers have perfected "escapism." People go to movie theaters and now rent them so that they can forget about "life" for a while, not be reminded of it.Why most american movies are so unreal in comparison to foreign movies from Europe and Latin America?
Because American's bathe and shave on a regular basis.
Due to the fact that we like action and drama and horror movies.

Japan movies I think are best foreigan films for horror and drama. Why most american movies are so unreal in comparison to foreign movies from Europe and Latin America?
Most American movies? Which - be specific. That seems to be a massive over generalization. The film industry in the US is very large, so there are several different layers of films, from independents to mass market blockbusters. What is so unreal about a film like "Brokeback Mountain", "Hannah and her sisters", "Chinatown" or "Casablanca" ..as opposed to a charming yet unreal fantasy such as the French "Amelie" or the German Fritz Lang's masterpiece "Metropolis"? Different film makers and different genres produce different results.

Your question seems a bit biased. Maybe it is the films that you are watching? The US puts out hundreds of films a year, of wide variety and varying quality. Many other countries put out far fewer and have smaller budgets that logically mean that the stories told are more realistic as that is what the production budget will bear. But the US also has similar small personal films. "Boys don't Cry" was a fantastic American film with a small budget and no effects. "Dog Day Afternoon" and "Goodfellas" are based on real events - so, I'd say... pretty real.

The US is dominant in the area of film due to it's worldwide audience. Every other country could be just as dominant, all had the same opportunities. The Americans are in the position they are in due to product.

A good film is a good film.
