Funny, your looking for racism, yet I detect some in the way you wrote your description of the events. My 15 year old African American daughter went to the movies to see Paranormal Activity 2 with 3 of her white?
I really do not know what the reason really was. But, from my experience in the States, it most probably was related to the age she looked. I remember having gone for a couple of drinks along with my colleagues (all of us of East Indian origin). While the three of us did not have any problems ordering our drinks, the fourth was asked for his age proof.
Now, at that time, I along with my colleagues were in the age range of 23 to 26. And the gentleman who was refused really looked very young. In your daughter's case it seems it would be the same thing. The ticket stub taker most probably was trying to be on the safer side.My 15 year old African American daughter went to the movies to see Paranormal Activity 2 with 3 of her white?Maybe. Maybe not. You don't need a college degree to take tickets. In other words the guy taking tickets probably isn't someone that you should credit or discredit for doing whatever he does. Nor should you hold the theater responsible. The easy path is to get offended that it was a racist act and to hold a grudge against how awful that guy/theater are or another option is to realize that your 14 year old daughter shouldn't see R rated movies without you and maybe it was good she didn't see it and that guy did her a favor.
First of all, I've seen kids your daughter's age get into "Bruno." I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out how sexually over-the-top Bruno was. No one really enforces the "Must have a parent if under 17" rule anymore. It may be because, like others have said, she looks really young and the other girls did not. However, in this day and age, racism is still alive and well and I wouldn't brush that theory off, either. I would call the manager of the theater and give him/her your concerns. My 15 year old African American daughter went to the movies to see Paranormal Activity 2 with 3 of her white? At the age of 11, I stood 5 feet 8 inches.I always had to pay adult prices. I'll never forget. One of the workers at the movie theater told me, She would let me pay the same amount as my friends, but, if she was caught doing that, she would loose her job. She knew it wasn't fair, she needed her job.My 15 year old African American daughter went to the movies to see Paranormal Activity 2 with 3 of her white?
She probably didnt look her age because sometimes when i go to the movies they tell me i have to echange my ticket because i dont look my age so , i end up exhanging my ticket but in this case i would have to say it was probably a case in wich they werent sure of your daughters age...
It seems like she could've been. I'm sorry that happened to you. I would report the problem to the manager or owner of the establishment to getto the bottom of the matter and get it settled. Maybe you'll get some free tickets in the process! :)My 15 year old African American daughter went to the movies to see Paranormal Activity 2 with 3 of her white?
Might be the case, you can't tell what was going on in their brain. Tell your daughter the world is full of ******* retards and don"t lessen to them.
no. Age and race are two different attributes.
Maybe your daughter looks younger than the other three girls. I doubt it was because of racial discrimination
if ur daughter wasnt tryin to get into rated R movies it wouldna been a problem
Why don't you just go over there and ask them these questions to see what type of answer you get? Best way to know the truth.
Possibly. or her friends just looker older and your daughter looked her age.
i think your being politically incorrect, stop thinking of black people as different. she must just look younger
it aint about black or white cos we're human
she probably just looked younger than them
Maybe your daughter just isn't pretty enough to get a pass for her age.
