Is it too cliche or american pie to take a girl to the movies on a date?

I was just curious, ive had plenty of quick encounters (one nighters) and such. But I plan on taking a girl out and was just wondering if anyone though it was too plain to take a girl to the movies. No. Never can become an old tired thing to do. I think a dinner and a movie is a good ice breaker and a good way to really get to know that person. You instantly find out likes and dislikes. Another good place to go a good old performance of the arts a production that is local. You can always see where she would like to go also, just ask her. See what she is into and take her to a happening that fits it. But the best way is dinner and a movie when you don't have any other information to go on.

Also, it depends what kind of girl she is. If she has a great sense of humor and likes those stupid-but-good type of movies, then go for it. But if she doesn't seem like that type of girl, take her to see something like "The Blindside" or "Avatar". Those are movies that everyone can find something they like in. Or ask her what kind of movies she likes and what she's been wanting to see. She'll be happy you asked.

Try dinner and a movie because just a movie will have no real personal interaction, which is key in dating.
